The Bank of America special needs suite serves its first Borderplex patient
In September, Hunt School of Dental Medicine students and faculty provided care for their first patient in the Bank of America special needs suite at the Texas Tech Dental Oral Health Clinic.
Alberto Lerma, whose physician recommended he book an appointment for treatment at the oral health clinic, said the experience was unforgettable.
“I received excellent services. Everyone was very professional and the wheelchair lift was perfect,” Lerma said. “I was very satisfied with my experience.”
In 2020, Bank of America announced a generous $50,000 gift to the Texas Tech Dental Oral Health Clinic to fully equip a one-of-a-kind suite that gives dental students the opportunity to learn the proper techniques, treatments, and sensitivities for the care of patients with special needs in our region.
The training students receive in the clinic prepares them to become our Borderplex region’s next generation of compassionate dentists who are prepared to serve all in our community.
