World-class cancer care is coming to El Paso, thanks in part to a friendship forged between two auto dealership leaders united in a mission to bring world-class cancer treatment closer to our Borderplex region.

Cancer warriors have gained another ally in the fight. Texas Tech Health El Paso and GECU today revealed the name of the GECU Women’s Health Wing in the new Fox Cancer Center. The event celebrated the strength and resilience of cancer patients across our Borderplex, honoring their stories while building hope for the future.

EL PASO, Texas — On Sept. 17, 2025, Texas Tech Health El Paso celebrated the groundbreaking of the Fox Cancer Center, a transformative facility that will deliver comprehensive, world-class cancer care to our Borderplex residents.

Together we've raised over $30 million but our capital campaign continues with a goal to raise another $25 million!

“I felt it was a disservice to our community that individuals, due to their disabilities, have to rely on sedation for comfort during procedures,” said Yang, who is now in her fourth and final year. “I wanted to implement a solution at our school since we have the facilities, including rooms dedicated to special needs and quiet spaces with sliding doors.”

Diabetes and the Community Dentist program expands beyond the dental school thanks to a grant from the Paso del Norte Health Foundation. Some Borderplex dentists' offices will now screen for, and identify, at risk patients as part of an effort to improve early detection and treatment of diabetes in the community.
